Forbes, in its 25th year of global wealth ranking, says there are 1,226 billionaires in the world presently! Mexican Carlos 'Slim' Helu still tops the chart with a net worth of $69 billion, while Bill Gates comes second with $60 billion. Warren Buffet is third with $44 billion.
Nigeria has 2 billionaires on the list. Aliko Dangote dropped 25 places to the 76th position in the latest ranking. His drop from the 51st to the 76th position is as a result of a $2.6 billion decrease in wealth, from $13.8 billion to $11.2 billion.
Globacom Chairman, Mike Adenuga, moved from the 597th to the 595th position as a result of a wealth increase of $2.2 billion from $2.1 billion to $4.3 billion.
Facebook founder, Mark Zukerberg is ranked 35th with a net worth of $17.5 billion .
