GSM operator, Globacom, has terminated D’Banj’s contract as the company’s brand ambassador. D’Banj reportedly refused to sign a new contract because the amount offered was a far cry from his first offer. D’Banj’s first endorsement was N70 million, while the renewal was N25 million. The Koko Master felt it wasn’t a fair deal and refused to sign it.
While his first endorsement contract lasted, D’Banj was accused of violating the terms of the contract, and went as far as demanding for a 100% increase- an action which reportedly angered the Globacom chairman, Mike Adenuga Jr. To checkmate Mr. Endowed’s excesses, the company signed on P Square for N30 million.
Although the endorsement contract has been cancelled, D’Banj’s photo will still appear on Globacom’s billboards and products.
