Randy Jackson dropped as American Idol judge
Randy Jackson has been dropped as a judge on America Idol, but will still continue to function as a mentor. Following the J.Lo and Liv Tyler's announcement to quit the show, everybody already expected the ball to drop on Randy's laps any time soon- and it finally did.
Talks are in advanced stage to bring Nicki Minaj on the show as judge- a decision that may not go down well with RnB sensation,Mariah Carey.

Chris Lightly, hip hop heavyweight commits suicide
Hip hop mogul Chris Lighty - the longtime manager of 50 Cent, Diddy, Ja Rule, and Mariah Carey - was found dead this morning in his Bronx apartment from what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
According to the police, 44-year-old Lighty's body was found by police around 11:30 AM in the backyard of his Bronx apartment. A semi-automatic firearm was recovered at the scene, and he was pronounced dead on the spot.
The death is being investigated as a possible suicide. According to sources close to Lighty, the hip hop mogul had been in an argument with his ex-wife and shot himself in the head.
Rumour has it that Lightly hadn't been the same since he divorced his wife last year.
Hmmmmm..... Why would a successful man commit suicide? Things are happening sha.
Protesting Lawyers Disrupt Conference
Protesting lawyers, Thursday, shut the main entrance into the Abuja International Conference Centre, venue of the on-going Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, annual general conference.
The protest, which lasted over two hours threw the entrance into conference venue and adjouring areas into confusion.
The lawyers, who were protesting against 500 percent hike in conference fees since the event began on Sunday, blocked the entrance of the conference venue, which had been maned by fierce looking security personal.
Lawyers who did not register and who had no conference tags were prevented from gaining access into the conference venue.
The protesting lawyers, argued that entrance into annual conference venue was upon payment of practicing fee as provided in section 6, sub-section 7 of the NBA constitution and not upon payment of conference fee as erroneously held by the out-going national executive.
They insisted they have a right to attend the Annual General Meeting, where the outgoing administration led by Mr Joseph Daudu, SAN, will rendered account of his two-year stewardship.
Among those locked out during the protest were NBA Third Vice-President, Dr Ogugua Ikpeze; General Secretary, Mr Muyiwa Akinboro and Chairman of Council National Human Rights Commission, Prof Chidi Odinkalu.
The lawyers barricaded the gate, preventing registered lawyers being conveyed in buses from going in.
They also prevented people in from coming out as they engaged security agents in hot arguments, shoving and pushing one another.
They insisted they have a right to attend the Annual General Meeting as fee-paying NBA member, whether or not they registered for the conference.
“A lot of things are going wrong in NBA and if we keep quiet, things will spoil totally,” one the protesting lawyer said.

Tinubu Becomes LAUTECH Chancellor
Hmmmmmm.............
The governments of Oyo and Osun states, Tuesday, appointed former Lagos State governor and National Leader of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, as Chancellor of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso.
LAUTECH, jointly owned by the two state governments, was established by the old Oyo State in 1988.
A statement in Ibadan, by Dr. Festus Adedayo, Special Adviser to Governor Abiola Ajimobi on Media, said the choice of Tinubu, a financial expert, accountant and administrator, was arrived at after extensive deliberations between the governments of the two owner-states.
He said Tinubu is expected to bring his administrative ingenuity and vast experience in public management to bear on the running of the institution and reposition it to meet the standard of its peers all over the world.
The Headies 2012 Nomination List
The organisers of the Hip Hop World awards, popularly called The Headies, have released the list of nominees for the 2012 edition of the award. Hip Hop duo, PSquare and soul singer Bez lead the pack of nominees with Wizkid also getting a notable mention.
This year's award will be hosted by M.I and Omawunmi. I seriously hope that this will make up for the PSquare's disappointment a few years where they had the highest nominations at the same award but won nothing.
